Which Blade? Masane’s!

I wasn’t all that into the TV version of Witchblade. However, the anime really impressed me. The main character, Masane Amaha is a little older than your usual anime heroine, and the story of how she takes on the demonic powers of the blade to protect her young daughter was really touching. So even if there was less fighting going on in here than you’d expect, I didn’t really mind that.
Anyway, here’s a figure of my Masane in the first incarnation of her witchy-form.
- There she is, child-bearing hips and all. Hee! I couldn’t get a good shot of the blade itself but it’s probably the most impressive part of this figure, being almost as tall as Masane herself.
- A close-up on her face with the black eyes the transformation gives her. Also you can see the pointy bits of the ‘armor’ pushing into her soft, pillowy chest – nice touch.
- A closer detail of her body from the front… She’s frightning yet feminine with nary a straight line in sight.
- Pulling back you can see the tendrils of hair she can use as spears. She only does it once in the show but man it was cool.
- I tried to get a little better view of those…
- And from the back… that’s some wild, wild hair. The tendrils come as separate attachments and sometimes fall out, so maybe gluing is recommended.
- One last profile closeup…
